Remember, too, that it is important not to assess the value of your meditations or measure your spiritual progress b whether or not you experience phenomena, such as colours or sounds that may or may not come to you.  Parmahansa Yogananda said: "The path to God is not a circus."  Rather, observe how you are changing as a person in daily life.  As one great saint put it: "Your religion is tested best in the cold light of day."
